Farewell AikaneX5!
On February 7th 2012 AikaneX5 found its way onto the beach at Black Rock on Kaanapali Beach Maui in front of the Sheridan Hotel. A series of events which started with high Kona winds and high waves created a scenario where the boat was ordered to be moved from Kaanapali to Mala in a deeper water / safer mooring. Killer, Brad, and Pappa were on Oahu having sailed over the previous day. Captain Michelle attempted the move and had engine problems with the port engine forcing her to make the decision to beach X5 rather than end up on the rocks. The rest is history. Boat Trips Maui is a Kellam & Sons LLC company; a family owned and operated Boat Charter business located in Lahaina / Kaanapali, Maui. We currently own and operate three vessels, AikaneX5 (Rudy Choy designed 62 foot power catamaran), Tale Walker (Bertram 31 foot Sport Fisher with flying tuna tower), and Superman2 (48 foot Peterson Sailing Sloop).
On AikaneX5, we specialize in personalized boat charters with a low (small) number of passengers on each excursion. We primarily provide best private charters for families or small groups from 3 to 12 people, however we are coast guard certified to carry as many as 49 passengers. We limit the passengers to make it as comfortable as possible for our guests. We also provide share boat charters for as few as 3 passengers minimum booking and a maximum of 12, once again, so that our guests can enjoy the day rather than being herded around like cattle.
